Humber School of Creative and Performing Arts

As a writer, I feel that it’s necessary to keep learning whenever and wherever I can.  For some of us, jetting around the country to a bunch of writing conferences just doesn’t fit in with our schedule or our budgets.  What’s a writer to do?

This year, I’m thrilled that my city will be hosting a two-day writing workshop, led by one of the faculty from the Humber School of Creative and Performing Arts.  Located in Toronto, Ontario, Humber College hosts more than 19,000 students and offers courses in writing, acting, and music to name just a few.  There are also opportunities to take some courses on line through correspondence.

To apply for this mini workshop, writers had to submit a fifteen page writing sample, which would be read by a committee to determine acceptance into the program.  With fingers and toes crossed, I filled out my application and sent my pages and as of this week, I became on of the lucky group to be accepted into the workshop, which will run Sat. Nov. 2nd and Sun. Nov. 3rd from 9:30-3:30 daily.

Humber’s glowing reputation makes it an enviable place for creative individuals to explore their passions and hone their skills.  If you are interested in all that Humber has to offer, check out these links:

  1. Congratulations on a slot well-deserved. Learn lots and shine.
